Very nice article ab out the top 10 collectibles to NOT collect by Terry Kovel. To me the lesson learned is that most items that are made to be collectible eventually lose value when the people that are interested in them age or pass away.

I am not any expert like the Kovels, but it does seem logical that also for "collectibles" from popular culture will also decline in value and desirability when the generation of people that know about that particular popular culture item get older and are no longer acquiring.
After all it is a market!
